So it doesn't yet look like much but it's so cozy and warm and comforting. Come spring, I'll add a wraparound porch on all four sides with a 3-season entryway in the front, maybe including an indoor potting bed. ... There'll be a gravel drive and lots of hay and birdseed for the wildlife.
This second home, in Whitefish, Montana, is close to my younger daughter and her two boys, as well as civilization. My original home, 50 miles north, in Eureka, is equally beautiful but remote.
The Eureka cabin in the mountains is close to my older daughter and her two children as well as a couple of really good friends - but it's far from culture. The comfort I have comes from what's inside, which is huge.
I love them both.
